This is my go to pho place and IMO the best value pho in Vancouver. It's a family run establishment with plenty of seating as well as free street parking and a parking lot with a few spots in the back.

Service is extremely quick and efficient. The pho broth is very tasty and they have chilli oil on all the tables. The crispy spring rolls are amazing too.

It is cash only. They do indicate this on the front entrance. It's one of the remaining restaurants where two people can get a tasty pho each and spring rolls to share for $25.

It's not fancy, but the flavours are there. It's comfort food at it's finest and worth a visit if you haven't been.

    Great quality for price.

Hearty and warm. The soup of their classic beef is sweeter than their lemongrass grilled chicken, most likely because the spice on the grilled chicken transfers to the soup. If you like a cleaner broath like me, then my vote is to get their beef next time

Hitting my Vietnamese stride again and checked out @dishedvancouver and @yelp and saw Bao Chau as a top 10 restaurant. I'm so embarassed I haven't posted about Bao Chau yet, they have such kind customer service and are authentic Vietnamese food. The pricing is very fair. The spring rolls were nice and warm. Our only regret is that the salad rolls were probably prepared in advance and put in the fridge, so our salad rolls were colder than we'd have liked. The rolls are very plump, filling with an appropriate amount of shrimp and ham, my only complaint would be that the rice noodles were a little too generous . Otherwise, definitely a top contender for authentic Vietnamese food.

Food for Thought : Do you know why when you microwave breads or starches as opposed to steaming or pan-frying in minutes it hardens like a rock? Since breads are mainly carbohydrates, aka glucose aka sugar, it undergoes retrogradation and forms crystalline rigid structures. When steaming you introduce more water vapour to prevent that, and pan-frying with oil (or vapour if you cover your pan with a lid).

BEST PHO and SPRING ROLLS. So good, I barely remembered to take photos of my food. Came here after a day in the mountains and it was the perfect satisfying meal.

You really must get both the pho and the spring rolls. Both are flavorful and will want you having more. In fact, I tried to come back on my last day in Vancouver, but it was a Tuesday, and they are sadly closed on Tuesdays.
Guess I'm going to have to make a trip back to Vancouver just so I can eat your pho and spring rolls again!

The spring roll is really good! This is a must order. Crispy skin and all.

I had the dry rice vermicelli with spring roll, ham and a prawn and fish paste ball thing. It was very tasty and I enjoyed my dish a lot.

It was crowded during lunch time and the service was hit and miss. It could be considered good if we were ready to order when the person came by. We said to give us a couple of minutes and we felt completely ignored when we were ready to order. It took a while before we could get someone's attention to place our order.

    Cash only.

Pho Ba Hue soup is light and refreshing with the basil and lime. Fatty beef and traditional Vietnamese ham goes well together.
